She was there working right beside me. I worked her Wednesday shift because
otherwise she wouldn't have had a day off (she's been working six day weeks
and was going to try a seven, which would have meant 14 in a row..)
Unfortunately, for us, we live in a county with a very small unemployment
rate and the starting pay isn't that great, so the store is understaffed,
plus someone broke their shoulder so that department couldn't send us
anyone, someone quit, and two people missed their shifts with us. The first
because her daughter gave birth and she had to watch her older grandkid
while her daughter was in the hospital and the other spent their shift in
urgent care after a bad reaction to meds. All out of our hands.
