I've been sending texts to my sister like I normally do and yesterday she replied. So any distress I might have caused her is being ignored.

I came across two different management styles in the last week. Both were about dress code violations. Both were overheard. The first was the front end manager (head checker) to day stock (the person who stocks end cap {the end of aisles} and some shelves). She said that his violation had been used as an excuse by others not to tuck in their own shirts and she gave him ways to solve it (buy longer shirts or cover it up with a coat or vest). He put on his coat. That was it.

Other people at the break room table gave her trouble for calling him a role model, but she used someone else as an example of how other young people don't realize they are noticed and sometimes all you need to do is point it out. You could tell she does this all the time.

The other was an older employee upset at a young checker's flagrantly showing off her tattoos (against the dress code). He complained to the assistant store manager in the manager's office (which is inside our break room now) with the door open. A few minutes later the checker came in upset that a customer had complained about her tattoos. She was worried that she hasn't been friendly enough, which must have been the real reason for the complaint. She tries to be extra nice to make up for her (happy) body art and she's a very nice and happy person anyway. She's a Sunday school teacher. I didn't tell her that the real complainer was a fellow employee because what would she do with that? But if the assistant manager comes up to me with a customer complaint, I'll know which group of people the complaint probably came from.

I had the day off and I'm resting my brain from work and my upcoming deadline (I'll edit it during lunches and breaks and fix the .doc on my next day off: Monday? Tuesday?), so you get a (very short) Trifecta chapter.
