Master list

Emil laid his head on the pillow and watched Kurt sleep. The timer was going off in the kitchen, but another few minutes of cooking wasn’t going to ruin the enchiladas. The cheese on top might get a little extra crispy, but Kurt liked crispy cheese. An eon after the timer started the minute was up and it fell silent. He watched Kurt sleep off his pleasure. Kurt wasn’t the kind to cheat. And Emil would never believe he was.

--

Kurt carried Emil’s plate to the table with his own. Then he pulled out Emil’s chair for him. “My love.”

Emil kissed him before sitting down. “You spoil me.”

But something was still off.

“How was your day? I got yelled at.” Kurt picked up his fork.

Emil frowned. “Why?”

Kurt sighed. “Veronica didn’t actually raise her voice, but I failed yet again to see someone else’s point of view.”

Just like he had with Andre during the Brandon incident and Emil when Kurt set out to win Peregrine back. He didn’t deserve a man as perfect as Emil.

He took a bite of Emil wonderful cooking. No, he didn’t deserve him one bit.

--

Emil ate his food slowly as Kurt talked about his day, and how what he did yesterday caused him trouble as if he’d told Emil all about it already. What had they talked about after work yesterday? Dad had called, they ate supper quickly, lingered over dressing up, danced, gone home after only an hour and then spent the rest of the night in bed. They hadn’t had time to share their days. But Kurt didn’t sound like he was trying to hide anything.

Emil held up a hand. “What lunch?”

Kurt frowned. “I didn’t tell you?”

He remedied that quickly. Kurt had had quite the eventful afternoon. Emil put his hand on Kurt’s. “Someone saw you taking Veronica and Beka back to work.”

Kurt nodded. “A lot of people saw me. The café was busy and I had to call to reception and have some of the office ladies to help me get them out of the cab.”

That’s not how Emil heard it. “You took a cab?”

“Of course. Seven block with tipsy companions would have taken me hours.”

“So you didn’t walk around with one on each arm?”

“No? Why!” Kurt stood up, leaving most of his seconds uneaten. He paced the room and turned. “Did someone come here spreading rumors?”

Emil held up his hand. Kurt strode over and took it. “I would never… never do anything to hurt you.”

Emil smiled. His heart felt light even though Kurt was upset. He could cure Kurt’s pain. He kissed Kurt’s fingers. “I knew you weren’t fooling around on me.”

Kurt sagged into his chair. “Thank you. But you’re still hurt.”

Emil rested his head on Kurt’s shoulder. Kurt was so warm and nice and gentle and so comforting. He lifted Emil onto his lap. “I can’t believe someone would set out to hurt you. Why would they even want to? What have you ever done to anyone?”

Emil cuddled against Kurt’s strong chest. “I don’t think they were after me. I think they wanted to hurt you.”

“But why would they—”

Emil pressed his finger against Kurt’s lips. “I didn’t believe him.”

“But—”

“Hush. Eat your dinner and I’ll tell you about the sweet kid who asked for my autograph.”

“Emil.”

“And after you finish we can talk about who did what and why. But first I want you to do my food justice.”

Kurt slipped his hand under Emil’s shirt. “I’m going to do something justice.”

Emil laughed, but his breath was stolen away. If Kurt was still hungry, he’d have to eat the rest cold. If anything was left worth eating after they finished with the table.

--

Kurt scraped a bit of crunchy cheese from the pan then ate it. He hadn’t eaten enough dinner, but that was his own fault. Emil was a temptation too delectable to resist. But next time they went at it on the table, he would have to restrain himself long enough to clear off the plates. Several had hit the floor. Nothing was broken, but the food was beyond redemption.

Maybe they could go out for dessert.

But first he needed to talk to Emil despite Emil’s attempts to put the conversation off. He set the pan in the sudsy sink. Emil stopped him from putting his hands in the water. “Let it soak.”

He stepped into Kurt’s arms. Kurt fully participated in the kiss, but then scooped Emil up and carried him to the couch. Emil giggled and despite coming three times in the last hour, Kurt had to fight the need to have Emil again. He sat with Emil on his lap and slid his hand against Emil’s abs and kissed up Emil’s neck. He was going to resist the temptation to take Emil, but not touching Emil at all was too impossible to even consider. “Beautiful.”

“Mmm.” Emil melted against him.

“If you didn’t believe the person, what hurt you so much? The attempt to hurt us, what was said, the way it was said…?”

Emil turned his head away.

“Please.”

Emil shook his head. “I…” He looked out the window for a long time. “Some stranger and what he said isn’t going to hurt me.”

“Then what is?”

“I… This happened… Not long ago, someone else… informed me that my boyfriend was stepping out on me and I tried so hard not to believe it…”

Kurt had hurt him. Kurt had torn Emil’s heart apart. “I’m sorry. So very sorry.”

Emil put his hand on Kurt’s cheek. “I don’t blame you.”

“You should.”

“I don’t. You are wonderful and brave and strong and sure of yourself and I love you.”

Kurt held him tight. “I am not worthy.”

He was such a cad.

Emil laughed and tilted his face up. “You don’t need to be worthy. I am very lucky to be loved by a man like you.”

Kurt was a jerk that couldn’t see beyond his own nose or feel beyond his own emotions. “How like me?”

Emil sat up and straddled Kurt’s lap. Kurt body bagged to respond, but he had no right.

Emil pressed his hands on Kurt’s chest. “Big, like you. Strong, like you.” He ran his hands down Kurt’s arms and took his hands. “Gentle, like you.” He kissed Kurt’s finger tips. “Caring, like you.” He flashed a mischievous grin. “Handsome, like you.”

“Horney, like me, you mean.”

Emil’s grin widened. “Exactly. Sexy, like you.”

He slid down Kurt’s body, setting Kurt on fire. Then he licked his lips. “Your quick recovery time is one of my favorite features.”

And then he proceeded to drowned out all Kurt’s thoughts with his hands and his tongue and he sweet moans. Kurt never stood a chance.

--

Emil scooted deeper into Kurt’s arms. He wanted to be loved, know he was loved, and feel it with ever ache of muscle and tender bit of skin. Only, of course, Kurt had work tomorrow. Emil should let him sleep sometime.

Kurt’s stomach gurgled. Maybe Emil should have made something else once the enchiladas hit the floor. But he was kind of distracted.

Kurt pulled him closer and shifted. He was starting to wake up. Emil smiled. Kurt was the perfect lover despite having to recharge after coming. Maybe that added to the allure. Emil relaxed in his strong arms.

Kurt ran his fingers through Emil’s hair. “You are so beautiful.”

Emil grinned over his shoulder. “I could say the same about you.”

Kurt buried his face against Emil’s back. “Tell me who hurt you. I’ll try very hard to not tear them limb from limb.”

Emil kissed Kurt’s arm. He had never heard Kurt threaten anyone with violence before. He felt oddly happy that Kurt thought he was worth it, but he was glad Kurt was too gentle to hurt anyone. “I love you.”

“Tell me what happened.”

Emil did. Kurt ground his teeth. “Small guy. Polo shirt and scuffed loafers?”

“And an Argyll sweater vest.”

“Tettle or someone like him. I guess I made him angry, but that doesn’t give him an excuse to get you involved.”

“What are you going to do?”

Kurt laid back and ran his fingers through Emil’s hair. “I don’t know. But I’m not going to stop fighting. I can’t let a bully win.”

Emil turned in Kurt’s arms and looked down at his handsome lover. He kissed Kurt’s top lip then sucked on his bottom lip and moved down his chin to his neck. Kurt moaned deep in his throat. Emil’s body roared, but he was going to go slow and take Kurt thoroughly. He couldn’t do enough to show his love for his knight.
